Sabar & Ikhlas
May 23, 2009
Tough to remember, to understand and to actually do it.
Maybe it’s just another way of saying how to be true to yourself so that you may live with a sound conscience. Breathe and hope that in that exhalation you find relief. No one actually tells you how hard it really is.
What if the cornerstone of complete surrender is actually choice and uncertainty? That you have no bloody clue if what you’re doing is right. No one else knows it either and they can’t really tell you what’s right or wrong. So feeling self-righteous is just as bad and equally misled.. merely conforming to the social construction of how society ought to be as dictated by those in the top rungs to preserve order, even when it buckles under your feet.
Ikhlas means doing things with the proper intention and with follow through.
I am confused because I can’t see any further than the tip of my nose.
This isn’t helpful.
So what do I do now? Where should I go? Who do I want to be?
Here we go.

Patience and sincerity for what?

for life’s uncertainty.
Post grad plans: i.e. what the heck am I going to do after school is done… I think to be uncertain is natural but to remain indecisive is probably corrosive.
actually I just watched Ayat2 Cinta and a line from the film about sabar and ikhlas hit me and got me thinking. =\

how would i know i am who you think i am?
that is like an existential conundrum…hahahah
at least u still have one more year before uncertainty turns into indecisiveness that is corrosive (which i disagree with!. I on the other hand……
mukhsin is sweet…yasmin ahmad’s movies are so idealistic, it’s somewhat painful. it’s not a criticism, just an opinion though. she did say that she knows that; and thinks films should not always be a reflection of reality but a hope for it *shrugs* she has a new movie out btw

guess you wouldn’t know if you are who i think you are and both of us wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. brain hurts.
try the IR! It’s hospitality. Making people think you like them is your forte.
Talentime? Is that screening everywhere in Malaysia? hoping to stumble onto a copy of sepet if i happen to wander off to little india again.. there’s no chance in hell i’d get a copy of muallaf is there? i like her stuff. it’s like a weird feel good movie.
