Hello Old Friend.

July 7, 2009

Hai

I’m busy reading up on economics and politics, designing my timetable, whizzing around town with other interns, zooming off to far flung places on weekends, being a good student and an observer of human antics.

Oh tomorrow we vote and I am voting for a second round.

…which means I won’t be voting for SBY

…and I certainly dislike Mega-Pro campaign

…so that leaves….zomg!

I’ve written about them all somewhere but I haven’t published them. I’m not afraid. There’s no repercussion. I don’t know. I guess I don’t have the time to edit out the unpleasant parts. Last summer I sent letters to a random satellite. This summer though is preserved in secrets.

Does contempt grow with age? Sometimes I feel like I can look through some people and see nothing there worth genuine adoration or respect. I can listen, empathize and pinpoint where they’re coming from but once I’m there I only have derision. Basically, it’s getting harder not to roll my eyes. Smiling makes you look less insolent.

In other news, I’ve found a little tribe here! Or more like little tribes. The second week here was eerily quiet which by the third week made me realize that I HAVE FRIENDS! And now I have trouble finding the time to meet the odd assortment of new colleagues, relatives and not-so-old friends whilst juggling work constraints and my own personal finances. The parental budget is denominated in the local currency which is just enough to get by whilst living fairly comfortably.

Whaddayaknow, it’s just like before!

So that concludes my fortnightly updates. I’m alive. I’m okay. I’m doing just fine.

Ta.
